The Company

Company History

Dayton Monuments, Inc. was founded in 2003 by Stephen & Elizabeth Brown. At the time, Mr. Steve Brown was also preaching for the Dayton Church of Christ and Ms. Elizabeth was working for the Rhea County School District. As time passed, each of them retired from their other positions and they have been managing the day-to-day operations.

Their commitment to providing courteous, personalized service and the highest quality products, at very competitive prices, caused the business to flourish. The Browns have passed the business down to their son-in-law and daughter, Ryan & Andrea Watson, who are committed to honoring and maintaining what the Browns started.

Ryan is veteran who served in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he returned to school and graduated from Freed-Hardeman University, which is where he and Andrea originally met. Ryan has learned, from his experiences working in the mortgage industry, in handling insurance claims, and managing rental properties, that building relationships is what matters.

Although Andrea is not involved in day-to-day operations, her experience in school counseling and supervision has been instrumental in building the team at Dayton Monuments.

Company Goals and Objectives

Our mission is to continue providing families with the highest quality personalized markers of their choosing at the most affordable price possible.

Our goal is to continue building a loyal customer base where we currently operate and to expand into surrounding counties to better serve families in their time of need. We plan to increase the gross sales at the current location and will be looking to acquire another successful monument business in a neighboring county.

When the husband passes, Dayton Monuments will sandblast his death date onto his marker.
